Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, at around 8 am, the driver/guide, will drive in at your hotel in Kampala to pick you up for the trip. He will brief you on the nitty gritty of the trip before you hit the road. This is a 10 Days Uganda Safari so you better brace yourself for a magical experience.

Drive from Kampala in the morning with your guide to Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest park and home to 451 bird species and 76 mammal species. Your eyes will be fed with lots of sightings along the way as you will enjoy a bottle of drinking water.

Have a number of stopovers like for example, Rhino sanctuary on your way to take pictures of the statues of rhinos mounted on the entrance to the sanctuary. There is an optional visiting the sanctuary to see the rhinos. The next stop is in Masindi, for lunch and the next is at the top of the falls which is 2hrs drive from Masindi town.

Day 2 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari: Murchison Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise

This is the crucial day of the stay at the park. You will have a hasty breakfast and set out for game drive as early as possible. Day 3 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest

Day 4: Kibale for A Morning Chimpanzee Trekking

On this day, you will have to wake up extra early morning for breakfast. After hasty breakfast, you will head to the park, where you will be briefed and later start off with Chimpanzee trekking in the forest. Kibale forest is among the charming places well-known for different primates and several crater lakes within Uganda

Day 5 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari: Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel- Queen Elizabeth

After an early breakfast, there again you hit the road for another yet exciting game drive through the Kasenyi track and other tracks where you have a chance to observe different wildlife species like; lions, Elephants, antelopes, buffalos, water-bucks, giraffes and if lucky enough Leopards together with amazing beautiful bird species. Queen Elizabeth has a diversity of Uganda’s ecosystem such as the savannah, wetlands, lakes, forests, and over 600 bird species which live in the park

With this, its scenery is spectacular with crater lakes like Nyamunuka and various shrubs and forest. Later head back to the lodge for lunch and relax. In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel. This is one experience to reminiscence.

After an early breakfast in the morning, you will head for a guided forest walk in Maramagambo forest with the hope to see diverse bird species, python and bat caves. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and transfer to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector as you will have a chance to observe tree-climbing lions in the wild. Day 8 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari: Gorilla Trekking and Community Walk-Bwindi

After a hasty cup of tea, head to the park head offices, with your guide, have a briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the Park with the Gorillas. After head for gorilla through the mist rain forest, trekking can take the least 2hrs. or up to 6hrs. and this is based on the location of the gentle giants.

Only an hour is permitted to trekkers while with Gorillas up close. Make sure that you carry a picnic lunch, enough water, sturdy shoes, non-flash cameras, rain jackets, walking sticks for those who are not so fit

Later return to the lodge and relax. Depending on the time you took to trek the gorillas, you can decide to stretch a little within your accommodation vicinity. In the evening, go for a community walk where you will visit the Batwa, which is an indigenous group of people that has lived in the forest for many, enjoy traditional dances from them. Head back to the lodge for your dinner and overnight

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, transfer to lake Mburo National Park. This is approximately 6 to 7 hours’ drive. You will go through the outstanding scenery in Kibale which is a combination of terraced hills, forests, banana plantations among many other sightings. Have lunch in Mbarara en route to Lake Mburo, which is a home to 332 bird species, sitting on an area of 371 sq Km.

As you drive through the park, you will have a chance to spot animals like, zebra, impalas, warthogs, topis, waterbucks, buffalos and red bucks among others. Upon arrival, you will have a boat cruise on the lake where eyes will be able to sight lots of wonders like birds, crocodiles, hippos, zebras among others. Murchison Falls National Park

Also know as the Kabalega Falls Nataional Park, the Murchison falls National Park is popularly known for having the world’s most powerful waterfalls that emits large volumes of water about 300 cubic meters per second or 11,000 ft3/s at a very powerful pressure that cause the surrounding to tremble.

The park was first gazetted in in 1927 and today is the largest park in Uganda covering an area of 3840 sq Km/ 1483 sq miles. It is commonly visited for Uganda Safari Tours because of its diverse Safari activities and rich wildlife

The park is located in the northern Uganda, northwest of the capital, and extends its boundaries to a number of districts within and beyond the Bunyoro escarpment including Nwoya, Masindi, Kiryandongo and Buyisa. Its found on the northernmost reaches of the Albertine Rift Valley with its terrain bisected by the Victoria Nile

The park covers an area of about 1978 km2. Its position provides a magnificent view of the Rift Valley floor that occupies Lake Edward and Gorge. It is well known to be habitat of about 95 mammals along with 612 species of birds. Formerly, a historian known as Douglas Willocks talked about the various features that lead to the formation of the Park in 1952

This area was strategically located with a stunning view of mount Rwenzori, the plains and the campsite jagged mass of mountains that are god for activities such as hiking. On the other side of lake Edward, there is a famous hill known as Mitumbe that looks out to Congo. Its beauty is signified with changing colors from blue to green, with gentle slopes, distant and this makes it become the center of darkness in Africa.

The eastern part of the park is characterized with peaceful green escarpments that is acquired from the western rift valley. The features are well covered with Savannah making it a beautiful place full of nature euphorbia trees

Queen Elizabeth National Park has one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any national park in the world, over 500 different species about 100 mammal species. The Ishasha area is famously known for its tree climbing lions and it is also known to host the world’s highest concentration of hippos

  • Kibale Forest National Park

This is a national park in western Uganda, protecting moist evergreen rain forest. It is 766 square kilometers (296 sq mi.) in size and located between 1,100 meters (3,600 ft) to 1,600 meters (5,200 ft) in elevation.

Despite encompassing primary moist ever green forest, it contains a diverse array of landscapes to contain both lowland and montane forests. In eastern Africa, it sustains the last significant expanse of premontane forest

The park was gazetted in 1932 and formally established in 1993 to protect a large area of forest previously managed as a logged forest reserve. The park forms a continuous forest with Queen Elizabeth National Park.

This adjoining of the parks creates a 180 kilometers (110 mi) wildlife corridor. It is important eco-tourism and Safari destination, popular for its population of habituated Chimpanzees and twelve other species of primates

Composed of 321 square kilometers (124 sq mi) of both Montane and lowland forest, it is accessible only by foot. BINP has been recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as a world heritage site for its biological significance

Species diversity is a feature of the park. It provides habitat for 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos, and many endangered species. Floristically, the park is among the most diverse forest in East Africa, with more than 1000 flowering plant species, including 163 species of trees and 104 plant species of ferns.

The northern (low elevation) sector has many species of Guineo-congolian flora, including two endangered species, the brown mahogany and Brazzeia longipedicellata. In particular area shares in the high levels of Endemisms the Albertine Rift

The park is a sanctuary for colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, and many birds such as hornbill and turacos. It is most notable for the 400 Bwindi Gorillas, half of the world’s population of endangered mountain Gorillas.

Habituated mountain gorilla groups are open to tourism in four different sectors of Buhoma, Ruhijja, Rushaga and the Nkuringo in the Districts of Kanungu, Kabaale and Kisoro respectively all under the management of Uganda Wildlife Authority

Lake Mburo National Park, is a very special every part of it is alive with variety, interest and colour. It contains an extensive area of wetland and also harbours several species of mammals and birds found nowhere else in Uganda.

Its sculptured landscape, with rolling hills and idyllic lake shores has a varied mosaic of habitats; forest galleries, seasonal and permanent swamps, rich acacia- woodland and grassy valleys which all support a wealth of a wildlife

At 370 sq Km. lake Mburo National Park is small in comparison with many other East African Parks, but with its rich variety of habitats; dry hillsides, rocky outcrops, bushy thickest, open and wooded savannah, forest, lakes and swamps, it is home to a surprising diversity of plants and animals

Lake Mburo is the only park in Uganda with Eland, Impala and Klipspringer. It is also home to the largest population of Zebras in Uganda estimated at about 5,000 and probably contains the highest concentration of leopards found anywhere in Uganda.

Buffalo, waterbucks, topi and warthogs are also very common. Reedbucks and oribi can also be spotted in the open valleys. Hyena, genet, bush pigs and white-tailed mongoose are often seen on night game drives

At the center of the park is lake Mburo, which together with 14 other lakes in the area, forms part of a wetland system. This system is linked by a swamp some 50 km long, fed by the Ruizi River on the western side. Five lakes, of which the lakes largest is lake Mburo, occur within the park’s boundary

Almost a fifth of the Park’s area consists od wetlands-both seasonally flooded and permanent swamps. The various types of swamps are home to wide variety of wetland birds, as well as the shy, rare sitatunga antelope.

Lake Mburo’s surface and its fringing vegetation are always changing, and its delightful to take a boat cruise out and experience the lake’s moods and watch numerous hippos, some crocs and an incredible number of African fish eagles. The lake is also one of the best places to spot the rarely seen African finfoot and white backed heron amongst many other water birds
